This piece is a family walking on the beach at sunset on a big wave day at Pismo Beach, California. I purposely pushed the colors to gray/neutralize the ocean and accentuate the yellows and peach/orange accents. The yellow is color of the year with Pantone so I thought this a great way to liven up neutral decor. I hope you like it! Pismo Beach and the pier are a popular tourist destination here on the Central Coast.
Lynee Sapere is an award winning painter whose artwork is featured in galleries and shows in California, Washington and Oregon. Her current work is primarily in oils and acrylics employing contrasting textures and luminosity, often juxtaposing thick palette knife passages with thin washes reminiscent of her roots as a transparent watercolorist. The subjects often include figures and people recreating as well as iconic West Coast scenery. Lynee is fascinated by abstractions and enhancing color while also embracing order, design and realism.
