The air temp is nice in Central Coast of California winters, but that water was COLD! Avila Beach often gets a great turn-out of intrepid swimmers and I was drawn to the high contrast of the scene. (check out this image as a shower curtain!)
Lynee Sapere is an award winning painter whose artwork is featured in galleries and shows in California, Washington and Oregon. Her current work is primarily in oils and acrylics employing contrasting textures and luminosity, often juxtaposing thick palette knife passages with thin washes reminiscent of her roots as a transparent watercolorist. The subjects often include figures and people recreating as well as iconic West Coast scenery. Lynee is fascinated by abstractions and enhancing color while also embracing order, design and realism.
