This little piece juxtaposes transparent stain effects on the figure and her shadow to allow the oak grain to be featured next to the thick palette knife strokes of paint for the landscape setting. What is more peaceful than practicing yoga on the shore of a high mountain lake? (sigh) Namaste!
About Lynee Sapere
Lynee Sapere is an award winning painter whose artwork is featured in galleries and shows in California, Washington and Oregon. Her current work is primarily in oils and acrylics employing contrasting textures and luminosity, often juxtaposing thick palette knife passages with thin washes reminiscent of her roots as a transparent watercolorist. The subjects often include figures and people recreating as well as iconic West Coast scenery. Lynee is fascinated by abstractions and enhancing color while also embracing order, design and realism.
