I like to paint vineyards, orchards, and farm fields because they represent the intersection of nature and man, and provide interesting visual perspective and rhythms. The first sprouts of Spring are impossibly bright green and fresh and I like the contrast against the gnarly old vines.
Lynee Sapere is an award winning painter whose artwork is featured in galleries and shows in California, Washington and Oregon. Her current work is primarily in oils and acrylics employing contrasting textures and luminosity, often juxtaposing thick palette knife passages with thin washes reminiscent of her roots as a transparent watercolorist. The subjects often include figures and people recreating as well as iconic West Coast scenery. Lynee is fascinated by abstractions and enhancing color while also embracing order, design and realism.
